Overview

Youth For Seva, Bhubaneswar, was officially launched when our founder visited the chapter and held a meeting with the active team members in June 2015. We began our programs with a corporate volunteering drive involving volunteers from the Infocity Industrial area. Through these initiatives, the organization established learning centers in two slum areas and organized various small programs as part of the local volunteering effort.

Our Programs

NMMS

We actively support students from government schools in preparing for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exam. This includes providing study materials, organizing workshops, and conducting mock tests to ensure students are well-prepared for the exam.

Abhyasikas Learning Center

Abhyasikas are free learning centers that provide educational support to children from economically weaker sections. These centers offer a safe and focused environment for learning, with the help of dedicated tutors who assist students in their academic journey.

To support the education of underprivileged students, we organize school kit distribution drives. These kits include essential supplies such as notebooks, stationery, and bags, ensuring that children have the resources they need to attend school regularly and focus on their studies.

Our summer camps provide children with a platform to engage in fun, educational activities during their school holidays. These camps focus on skill development, cultural activities, and personality-building exercises, helping children explore their interests beyond academics.

Sapling Plantation

This initiative focuses on planting trees in various areas to improve the green cover and promote environmental sustainability. Volunteers actively participate in planting saplings to contribute to the city’s ecological well-being.

Seed Collection and Seed Ball Making

Volunteers gather seeds from local trees and plants to create seed balls. These seed balls, which contain a mixture of soil and seeds, are later dispersed in open areas to encourage natural reforestation and plant growth.

Cleanliness Drive

This drive focuses on cleaning public areas, such as streets, parks, and neighborhoods, to promote hygiene, reduce litter, and encourage the community to maintain cleaner environments.

Save Bird Campaign

This campaign is centered around protecting and supporting local bird species, especially during extreme weather conditions. Volunteers may provide water, food, and shelter to help save birds, particularly during hot seasons.

Paper Bag Making

In this activity, volunteers make eco-friendly paper bags as an alternative to plastic bags. The goal is to reduce plastic waste and encourage the use of biodegradable materials.

Ankur, meaning “budding,” is aimed at fostering the cultural and extracurricular talents of children. This program provides a platform for children to showcase their abilities in areas such as music, dance, art, and sports. By encouraging participation in these activities, It helps children develop confidence and discover their unique talents.
