Assisting Educational Needs
While schools play an important role in furthering education, some students may need additional support. Abhyasikas Commmunity Learning Centers are YFS’ efforts to help such students who need extra assistance. These are free tuition centers for students aimed at helping children who live in hostile home environments to focus on their studies for a better future. They also help minimize a child’s exposure to these environments, keeping them safe in the process.

Abhyasika Community Learning Centre Benefits
At the heart of our grassroots education initiatives lies the Abhyasika Community Learning Center, a safe haven designed to nurture young minds right within their own neighborhoods. We believe that true learning flourishes in an environment of trust and familiarity. By actively engaging dedicated volunteers and mentors from the same community, we bridge the emotional and cultural gap between formal schooling and home. These familiar faces act as relatable role models, fostering a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere where children feel encouraged to express themselves, ask questions, and learn without hesitation.
However, an Abhyasika is far more than just a tuition center. While our volunteers diligently assist children with their school curriculum, homework support, and essential communication skills, our vision extends to holistic development. We recognize that character is as important as competence. Therefore, every session integrates valuable teachings in morals, ethics, and civic responsibility.
This dual focus ensures we are not just improving academic grades, but laying a strong ethical groundwork for the next generation of responsible citizens. The impact of this model is visible and growing. This year alone, we have successfully extended our reach to 3,659 children across 125 Abhyasikas. Each center stands as a beacon of hope, proving that when a community comes together to teach its own, the future of the nation shines brighter.
