Lab on Wheels – Mobile Science Lab

Lab-on-Wheels is a mobile science lab setup that brings science experiments and interactive models to children from government schools or learning centers throughout the academic year. Mode of transport (either a van or a two-wheeler) is decided based on the operation location and number of schools serviced. A vehicle serves multiple schools making the program very cost-effective for its reach. These demonstrations are in sync with their curriculum and therefore build a better understanding of the subject using a practical & even hands-on approach.

Why do we need a mobile science lab?

Science is not merely a collection of facts to be memorized from a blackboard; it is a dynamic way of thinking best cultivated through experimentation and observation. However, for many children in underserved communities, access to fully equipped laboratories remains a distant dream, rendering science an abstract and difficult subject. Practical learning bridges this gap by transforming passive listening into active discovery.

When a student handles a microscope or conducts a chemical reaction, complex concepts solidify into tangible understanding, sparking curiosity and a critical scientific temper. Youth for Seva’s Lab on Wheels initiative addresses this disparity head-on by mobilizing education. We bring the laboratory directly to the school gates, ensuring that every child—regardless of their background or location—has the opportunity to touch, test, and understand the wonders of the scientific world
